Bubbles is our mascot and we are honored she accepted the position!  She has had a very interesting life and she would like to share her story with you.  Bubbles was caught as an adult in Indonesia (in the wild) and shipped to the United States to be a pet.  She was put in a cage and kept in captivity for 30 years.  During this time she pulled out her feathers in frustration and broke some wing bones as well.  She was past from one owner to a breeder and was then surrendered to us.  The breeder thought she would be better off if she was euthanized as she thought she would suffer being moved again.  We convinced him to give us a chance and lets see how she did.  Not only is Bubbles doing fantastic but she also is one of the sweetest birds we have ever known.  There is no one she dislikes and she is so happy to have love in her life.  Even her feathers are beginning to grow back.  Bubbles comes with us to most of our events and we are proud to have her in our lives.  We wish that we could let her go back to the wild but she can never go back now.  When she is outdoors and sees birds flying over she looks up and loves to talk to them.  It makes us sad to see this but is a reminder of how much humans can affect animals lives, both positively and negatively.  It is now illegal to import birds to the US.
