Indy
From Indy's new forever home:
"Dear Big Hearts,
Well, we finally got our internet all set up and know you had wanted some pictures of Indy. She is doing fantastic!! She is making many new noises and we are even starting to teach her words now. She hasnt picked it up yet, but we hear it takes a few weeks, and of course probably a few months with Indy, lol.
She loves anything we are eating, most of all empanadas!! She loves to cook with us (and we do use nonteflon pots and pans =] ) And occasionally, steals the food before its dinner time. She always feels she has to have everything we are having, even if she doesnt like it. She just wants it in her bowl, lol.
She gets along great with our pekingese YuLan, they both find eachother very interesting, and when Indy is ready to call it quits with playing she scoots under the china cabinet and pokes her head out for help! lol. She likes YuLan much better when they are just cuddling on the couch.
Indy is just starting to fly again. We take her outside and she loves it, but today she got on the roof, Yiiikes!! We were pretty nervous, but our little Indy came right back to us! Very much a relief, i think to her also. I dont think she'll have anymore roof escapades in the future, Lol.
She spends almost her entire day out of her cage, only going inside for bedtime. Which she gets very cranky about if its past her bedtime, lol. She loooves taking showers, but of course you know that! We take her on walks to the beach quite often and loves the attention and fresh air. She is becoming much more confident and is really opening up with us. Shes very open to trying new things and making new noises. She loves when we play video games and always goes "WHooooooW!!" when someone wins. She also loves watching the Patriots with Josh, he gets very excited and she is right beside herself whooing and whistling with him.
We never wanted children, but I guess God gave us one anyways! Shes nerdy and a little bit snooty. Shes our little toddler and we love her very much. I really cant imagine our lives without her. We thank you so much and appreciate everything you do rescuing these wonderful animals and finding their perfect forever homes with families just like us.
Love,
Tara, Josh, YuLan, & Indy *
Lana
A note from Lana's forever family: "Lana is truely my best friend. She loves going for walks with me and Oliver (dog) by the lake and yes she has to walk, although she does ride on my shoulder she really prefers walking on her own, she thinks she is a dog. I'm sure now that she is a girl, last spring she layed 3 eggs. Lana is also my protector, she doesn't allow anyone to hug me or even touch me if she is out of her cage. Lana is very loving, she gives me kisses and when I ask her give me some love, she walks over to me and suggles against me, but she is a one person bird for sure. I think she is so protective of me because when I was going through cancer treatments I spent a lot of time with her when no one was around. She doesn't talk too much, she says hello when the phone rings, and if the lights are not out by 9:30 she will say OMG help me, it is so funny. She will try to sing with me, she likes childrens songs, her favorite is the Barney (big purple dinosar) song.
I want to thank Big Hearts Rescue for giving me a true friend that will be with me for many many years."
Way to go, Lana!!

Hee hee!! My foster mommy and daddy couldn’t stand to let me go, and they added me to the Lutz Menagerie–permanently! (www.lutzmenagerie.wordpress.com) Hurray :) Now I can have all the Craisins and apricots I want for life!
Joseph
It finally happened!! My brother got lucky last week and now I found my forever home! I will have a nice little kittie brother to get to know and play with, and two hoomin kids to love me. I couldn’t be happier! My foster mom and dad told me that I was their favorite kittie, and that they were sad to see me go, but I told them that it’s not about them, it’s about me–and I’m on my way to a happy life!!!!

Looks like I’m one lucky little guy! I just got adopted on June 30, 2009, and I am very excited. I only wish my litter-mate Joseph could come with me! We are bonded and are best little buddies! But I am sure happy that someone wants to love me. Hurray!!
My foster mummy and daddy say that they are very sad to see me go, but I told them that now they can help another poor kitty find a home. I think that made them feel a little bit better!
